Sports


The department was established in 1973.The aim of the department is to channelize youthful energy by their participation in Sports and Games during their student’s life. Department provides its students with excellent infrastructure, financial support and vigorous training. As a result, the department is embellished with many International, National, State &University level Players.

The sports curriculum at Aryabhatta College boasts of 25different types of sports, ensuring that no sports enthusiast experiences any kind of lacunae in their chosen passion. The field received a definitive boost with the formal establishment of the Department of Physical Education.

The Physical Education Department stands out particularly due to the ability of our students in amalgamating academic excellence with success in sports. On their part, the faculty members enable and encourage the sport students to strike this balance, ensuring institutional support for the students’ careers. The Department organizes various workshops, seminars and fun activities in order to encourage participation and spread awareness amongst all Aryabhatta students regarding the field.

Attendance on Sports Day is compulsory for all the students, whether they are participating in games or not. Sports classes begin in the morning from 7 A.M. to 10 A.M.

Outstanding sports students are given frees ships, stipends and other facilities.
The department also feels proud of the various laurels achieved by its students along the years.

Noteworthy Activities of the Department

* Organised a talk on 6th March 2019 on Sports Psychology by Dr. Sandeep Tiwari in the seminar hall of the college.
* “RUN FOR SELF” – A 3 KM Marathon was organised on9th August 2019. A total of 400 students along with the teaching andnon-teaching faculties participated.
* A week long Aerobics Camp open for all students& College staff on 23rd to 27th Sept 2019.
* Organized a 5 Day Wellness Workshop on Yoga and post COVID rehabilitation program “KARO YOG RAHO NIROG” from 8th to 12th June2020.
* A webinar was organised on 23rd June 2020 to celebrate International Olympic Day.
* A webinar on conducted on 29th August 2020 to celebrate National Sports Day along with the Birth Anniversary of Major DhyanChand Singh.
* Under the scheme “Fit India Mission” the department organized a Virtual Run Anywhere – Any time from 1st to 2nd Oct2020.
* Organized Kho-Kho & Volleyball Match on the occasion of “Women’s Day” celebration on 8th March 2022.
* A 7 Km Cyclothon was organised on 25th March,2022. Around 240 students participated in this event.
* “RUN FOR EQUALITY” – A 3 KM Marathon was organised to celebrate Bharat Ratan Shri Bhim Rao Ambedkar Jayanti on 9th April2022.
